From one of the top quality houses of its day comes this rare and extremely stylish 14k gold timepiece by Solvil, Paul Ditisheim of Switzerland. Famous for his extravagant case designs as well as being as one of the 20th centuries top watchmakers, Paul Ditisheim not only had a great sense of design, but also engineered and manufactured superb quality movements. He is especially famous for inventing the Guillaume Balance. While he is not as well known as Patek and Vacheron these days, he will surely one day gain the reputation he deserves in the eyes of the true collector. You have here a true investment quality piece in all original condition.

Case: Solid 14k gold snap back case with long ribbon style sculpted lugs and classic square shape with slightly rounded corners. In excellent condition with a very tasteful engraving on the back dating it to 1943. Measures 25mm by 35mm excluding the crown and comes on a nice 16mm genuine leather strap.
Dial: Rare original factory printed dial signed Solvil, Paul Ditisheim, Swiss with applied gold numbers, printed minute track and small seconds at 6:00. Anyone who collects Ditisheim knows that original dials are hard to find as for some reason they often discolored over time and were at some point re-printed. This one does have some discoloration around 3:00 to 5:00 but overall is in great shape with very clear printing and a classic dress look.
Movement: High grade "in house" designed and manufactured manual wind movement signed Solvil Geneve Swiss, 17 Jewels, unadjusted. Recently serviced by our watchmaker and in excellent working condition.
